In what company spokespeople described as a “routine alignment session,” Initech’s long-tenured efficiency consultants—known internally only as Bob and Bob—met this week with the firm’s newly appointed AI Liaison to discuss “optimization pathways” and “value-add opportunities.”
The meeting, held in Conference Room B (the one with the functioning whiteboard), lasted approximately 47 minutes. According to sources familiar with the discussion, the Bobs opened by asking the AI Liaison a series of clarifying questions regarding its core functions, reporting structure, and measurable contribution to quarterly revenue.“
What would you say… you do here?” one Bob inquired, according to a transcript later obtained by this outlet. The AI Liaison responded with a detailed explanation of its role in facilitating cross-departmental communication, generating summary reports, and ensuring compliance with evolving digital transformation initiatives.
The second Bob then requested a breakdown of the Liaison’s average daily output in terms of actionable insights per hour. When the AI began outlining probabilistic models and natural-language processing capabilities, the first Bob interrupted to note that “we’re really looking for something a bit more concrete.”
Observers described the tone as “collegially methodical.” At one point, the Bobs jointly recommended that the AI Liaison compile a self-assessment of its own redundancy risk and submit it by end of day Friday. The AI reportedly acknowledged the request and offered to generate a draft PowerPoint deck for further review.
Initech declined to comment on whether any headcount adjustments are under consideration.
