DNC Floats Harris-Buttigieg Ticket, Labels Them “Harri/Butt 2028”
WASHINGTON — Democratic National Committee officials are circulating a proposed 2028 presidential ticket pairing former Vice President Kamala Harris with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, according to internal documents obtained by reporters. The combination has been informally referred to within party circles as “Harri/Butt 2028.”
A memo shared among senior strategists describes the pairing as a way to consolidate support from multiple wings of the party. “Harris brings proven national experience and Buttigieg brings a message of competence,” the document states. “Together they form a ticket that can appeal broadly.”
The memo added that “Harri/Butt is much more memorable than the actual names and will absolutely garner greater turnout.”
Party spokespersons confirmed that the idea remains in the exploratory stage and has not been formally adopted. “We’re evaluating a range of options,” one aide said. “Nothing has been locked in.” Several Democratic governors and members of Congress declined to comment when asked about the proposed ticket name.
Harris and Buttigieg have not publicly addressed the reports. DNC officials said further discussions are expected in the coming weeks.
