Brilliant US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made another stunning observation. In hearing about the state of the economy, Ocasio-Cortez said that it would be unlikely that the United States would suffer another Great Depression because now we have antidepressants like Prozac.

Economic advisor Frank Hall said that the US risks falling into another recession or even another Great Depression if the Fed keeps rates up.

“That’s not going to happen,” Ocasio-Cortez retorted. “Even if the entire economy goes down, it won’t be a great depression because we have Prozac and Zoloft. Those drugs are little miracle pills and we won’t be down for long.”

Many in the audience shifted nervously in their chairs at the statement.

“The Great Depression was a major tragedy in American history,” Ocasio-Cortez, a Boston University economics graduate continued, schooling everyone in attendence. “But today is different. We have ways to deal with depression that they didn’t even dream of during the Great depression in the 1800s.”

“We live in an amazing time. We can totally ruin the economy but all feel pretty much okay with that.”
