Local Dad Yells ‘They Can Take Our Lives but They Can Never Take Our Freedom!’ Before Removing Splinter
A local father shouted a line from Braveheart on Wednesday immediately before removing a splinter from his toe.
The splinter had been lodged under his big toe skin since the previous afternoon. The man stood at the kitchen counter, raised his voice, delivered the sentence, and then used tweezers to extract it. The process took under five minutes.
“He yelled it clearly,” his wife reported. “Then he started.”
The children were in the adjoining room and did not enter. No one responded to the statement. The man rinsed the site, applied a bandage, and returned the tweezers to the drawer.
Relatives said he has used the same line on other occasions involving minor repairs. One noted that he recited it last month while changing a furnace filter. The filter was replaced without further comment.
The man declined to explain the timing. He said the splinter is out and that the hand does not require additional attention. The bandage remains in place.
