SHOCKER: Thousands of Mentally Ill Liberal Abortion Supporters on SSRIs Back Woman Who Strangled Her Three Kids
BOSTON — Thousands of mentally ill liberal abortion-rights supporters who take selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors have publicly expressed sympathy for Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman charged with strangling her three young children, according to a review of online commentary.
Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, is accused of killing her children in 2023 before attempting to take her own life. Her defense has focused on claims of severe postpartum mental illness. Prosecutors have described the killings as deliberate acts.
In posts and comments across social media platforms, many of the supporters framed Clancy as a victim of inadequate mental health care and the pressures of motherhood. Several openly referenced their own use of antidepressants while defending her.
Critics described the response as predictable. “There is no actual contradiction here,” one observer wrote. “The same people who treat ending a child’s life as a private medical decision are now extending that logic to a woman who completed the act after birth while managing her own diagnosed mental illness with medication.”
Others noted the volume of support. “Thousands of posts is not a fringe reaction,” another said. “It is a data point.”
Major abortion-rights organizations have not issued formal statements on the case. Individual advocates continued to emphasize compassion and the need for better psychiatric treatment.
Prosecutors say they will pursue murder charges. No trial date has been set.
