Pelosi calls salon visit a ‘set up’ to make her look bad
SAN FRANCISCO—House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says her recent visit to a San Francisco hair salon, in which she received styling indoors despite a city-wide ban on indoor styling, was “a setup.”
“Just look at my hair!” Pelosi said in a press conference. “This is a conspiracy to make me look bad!”
Jonathan DeNardo released a statement through his attorney on Wednesday, refuting comments from the owner of eSalon in San Francisco who said the incident was not set up.
Pelosi has faced criticism for her maskless salon visit Monday, including from President Trump.
“She wants to have special privileges that aren’t afforded everyone else and it’s a disgrace,” Trump said. “Her hair looks great though!”
Hair salons have been closed in San Francisco since March and were allowed to reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor services, according to Forbes.
Pelosi made mask-wearing mandatory in July for all lawmakers on the chamber floor.
Erica Kious rejected the claim that it was a set up. “How could I make her look that bad? That’s all on her.”
