NEW YORK—US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has never been one to shy away from controversy. While attending the $30,000 per ticket Met Gala in the city, she wore a shocking gown with “Eat the Rich” printed on the back and then proceeded to literally eat four other guests.

“Say what you will about AOC, but she means what she says. This isn’t just virtue signaling,” GT Fashion Editor Derek Zoolander said.

The gown designer, Aurora James, who is worth $9 million said that she did not think that AOC would take the dress as an instruction manual.

“It’s an expression, you know. A play on words. No one really expects you to actually eat the rich!” James said.

Ocasio-Cortez said that the rich people tasted “a little gamey” and preferred more seasoning.

“But the point isn’t to enjoy the meal. It’s to get rid of rich people and put them in your belly,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

AOC was given a ticket to the event but the dress cost $15,000.

Fellow democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, who made millions with his book “How to Get Rich Fighting Income Inequality” supported AOC’s bold move.

“I think it’s genius. We really need to start literally eating the rich in order to affect change in America and by rich I mean people who are richer than I am,” Sanders said.
