Kamala announces trip to the Borders but says there’s no crisis there
WASHINGTON, DC–Vice President* Kamala Harris has announced a trip to the Borders after a constant stream of criticism from Republicans, but she doesn’t “know what the big deal is.”
“They want me to go to the Borders, even before I go to Europe, well I’ll go, but I don’t know what the big deal is,” Harris said at a press conference announcing the trip. “There’s no crisis there or anything. There’s no one even here!”
Harris will take 10-Suburban motorcade to the original Borders bookstore in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which closed in 2011.
“I mean it’s sad and all that they closed, but why do they want me to go to the Borders so bad? It’s not like we have an immigration crisis or kids in cages at the Borders. They’ve closed!” Harris added.
Borders was founded in 1971 by Tom and Louis Borders, University of Michigan graduates who took over an 800-sq foot used bookstore. Publisher Peter Osnos wrote on The Atlantic website that part of their unique offering was that they had developed “an inventory tracking system that, by the standards of the time, was as sophisticated as computers allowed.”
