LeBron slams racist NBA Best Player poll: ‘They voted for Antetokounmpo cuz he’s white’
LOS ANGELES—Lakers superstar LeBron James is crying racism after receiving zero votes in an ESPN offseason poll of NBA executives and scouts.
“Man, this is just racist. Clearly, they can’t accept a black man with dark skin being the best. They want a light-skinned black man to be the best. It’s just racist garbage,” James said at a press conference he called in order to complain about the poll.
The votes were split between Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who received five apiece.
There is a case to be made that James is still the best player in the league at age 36. He finished second in NBA real-plus minus last season, trailing only Stephen Curry. He averaged 25 points, and over seven flops and seven righteous indignation pleas directed at referees a game.
James took to Twitter to complain about the latest injustice, tweeting, “THANK YOU! As if I didn’t need more to Fuel pump ME! #WhiteWashed Crown”
“I mean, Giannis was born in Greece. How much more white can you get?” James added.
