United States Military to Stop Fighting All Wars to Combat Climate Change

UNITED STATES—Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced today that the United States military will no longer directly engage in any wars to combat climate change.

“The science is clear: wars are bad for the environment,” Austin said. “We cannot keep on going to war if we care about the environment and the harmful effects of climate change. As such, from this point onward, the United States will cease fighting any and all wars, both offensive and defensive.”

To deter foreign nations from attacking the U.S. homeland, Austin declared the United States to be a “War-Free Zone.”
