World’s biggest philanthropist Bill Gates to donate most his wealth to himself
SEATTLE—Billionaire Bill Gates said in a Wednesday Twitter thread that he plans to get off the “rich list” by donating of his fortune to himself.
“I have an obligation to return my resources to society in ways that have the greatest impact for reducing suffering and improving lives. And I can do that best by giving all my money to myself through my Foundation,” he wrote.
The Microsoft co-founder said he will give $20 billion to his and his ex-wife’s philanthropic organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, at some point this month.
Gates is raking in more money from his new book “I Want to Kill Half of You,” in which he offers some insightful observations about how he intends to depopulate the world through reproductive health and new vaccines, an extrapolation on his TED Talk in 2010.
“I’ve made so much money in my life and I really feel the need to give it away to myself,” Gates said.
