White House Clarifies Biden’s ‘Where’s Jackie?’ Remark: ‘He Was Talking About Jackie Chan’
Last week, Joe Biden asked at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health if Jackie Walorski, (R-Indiana), who died in a car wreck in August, was in attendance at the conference.
As Biden was crediting bipartisan officials for their efforts, he referenced the late congresswoman when he said, “Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? I didn’t think she was – she wasn’t going to be here.”
The White House was quick to clarify Biden’s statement. “He obviously wasn’t referring to Congresswoman Walorski,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.
“It’s clear from his speech that he was talking about Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan is the president’s favorite actor and was on the top of his mind during the speech. The president loves his movies, especially the Rush Hour franchise.”
