Trump says ‘laughter is the best medicine’ to fight COVID-19; calls for national ‘Day of Satire’
During his daily COVID-19 press conference, President Donald Trump reported that, “laughter is the best medicine,” in the fight against coronavirus. He also called for a national “Day of Satire” to combat the deadly pandemic.
“Satire has shown very encouraging, very, very encouraging early results, and we’re going to be able to make laughter available almost immediately to fight COVID, and that’s where the FDA has been so great,” Trump said. “They’ve gone through the approval process, it’s been approved and they did it, they took it down from many, many months to immediate.”
Experts across the country agreed with Trump, stating that people with a sense of humor live much longer that stodgy, joyless creatures who don’t laugh.
Trump then tweeted:
My team of infectious disease specialists have confirmed that laughter is the best medicine to defeat COVID-19. I’m calling for a national “Day of Satire” April 1st to fight coronavirus. Please share your favorite Genesius Times (or lesser satire site) article to help “save a laugh” today!
“This is a matter of laugh and death,” Trump’s lead medical officer Dr. Cliff Huckstable said. “We need satire sites like Genesius Times to continue their great work and save this country.”
