Many were hoping that Kanye West‘s recent conversion to Christianity would mean a less confrontational star, but Ye is up to his old ways.

At the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards ceremony, Lauren Daigle was giving an acceptance speech for best Christian pop song and Kanye climbed up on stage and made his opinion be known.

“Yo, LaDa, I’m really happy for you, and Imma let you finish, but I just got to say Hillsong Worship had one of the best praises of all time,” Kanye said after ripping the microphone from Daigle’s hand, “and you really shouldn’t be up here. I mean that stuff you pulled on Ellen, it’s just not Christlike!”

Kanye then went into a freestyle on his Jesus Is King album until the ceremony went to commercial.

West was referring to Daigle’s inability to profess the Gospel when asked about homosexuality being a sin.

“I mean how can you call yourself a Christian? You need to be able to be more humble like me.”
