Several local drag queens have announced plans to host a story hour at a maximum-security prison, in an effort to prove that drag queens are not just “groomers” and that they have a valuable role to play in society.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my love of storytelling with the inmates at the prison,” said the drag queen, who goes by the stage name “Ruby Redd”, in a recent press release. “I believe that everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy and wonder of storytelling, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with the world.”

Just kidding. They’re just groomers.
