Austin–Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York took the tech and arts South by Southwest conference by storm this weekend and made a bold statement in her scheduled panel.

“It’s 2019 people–we must put an end to women’s suffrage once and for all!”

The audience of cosmopolitan techies and historical dunces applauded wildly, giving the young politician a standing ovation.

“There are too many women suffraging today in places all around the world–even here in Austin. It’s a shame and I’m calling for the global end of women’s suffrage.”

Bill Nye was an unexpected questioner after the panel asked about ending suffrage for everyone to be more egalitarian.

“That’s fine,” Ocasio-Cortez said, “but we need to focus on women right now.”

Ocasio-Cortez has not addressed feminism but has alluded to the fact that she has received so much antagonism from mean Republicans because she is, “as powerful as a man, and they can’t stand it.”
