US Treasury introduces design for new $1 bill
WASHINGTON, DC—President* Joe Biden has introduced a design for the new $1 bill. It will look exactly like a $20 bill with former President Andrew Jackson on it but will act just like a $1 bill and only be able to buy you as much as 100 pennies.
The move is controversial since many people were looking forward to the new design to include an image of Harriet Tubman, the first African American woman to grace a US denomination, but instead, they’re just using the old $20.
Experts are calling the new design brilliant.
“Basically, you’re getting a completely new design without having to print any new bills,” Currency aficionado Dick Firkin said.
Other denominations will also be getting a facelift.
The new $5 bill will look exactly like the old $100 bill with Benjamin Franklin on it. The new $10 bill will look like two $100 bills stacked on top of each other. And the new $20 bill will look like a kidney on the black market.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the new bill is a beautiful design.
“It’s new and fresh but also carries with it a sense of familiarity,” Yellen said. “I think people will love the new $1 bill.”
