Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced her vision for a Green New Deal, including, shockingly, that every American must hold their breath for 4 hours a day. Critics were quick to dismiss the plan, citing the unrealistic goals of 100% renewable energy, but Ocasio-Cortez answered those criticism with a bold clarification.

“We can absolutely achieve 100% renewable energy,” Ocasio-Cortez said in the demonstration while holding a common extension cord. “You see, you take the plug and just plug it into one of the outlets and voila! 100% renewable energy!”

Reporters were amazed at the boldness of the demonstration.

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi “threw shade” at the plan saying it’s, “very enthusiastic,” which some have seen as a euphemism for impractical.

One reporter asked if Ocasio-Cortez’s demonstration produced any electricity and she replied, “Well of course it does! A consensus of scientists have said that this will produce 100% renewable energy, so yes, it will.”

Bernie Sanders has lauded the plan. “We need to be 100% renewable by 2030 or the world will end. Alexandria’s proposal is stunning and heartwarming. It’s the right thing to do.”

One critic said that President Obama already came up with the idea, but went nowhere with it.
