President Trump declared Thursday “a great day for civilization” as Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced terms of a cease-fire agreement that would end violence between Turkey and Kurds in Syria, following a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
But not everyone was happy.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi was infuriated with the “reckless move.”
“How dare he put the livelihood of our military contractors at stake? Who does he think he is causing all sorts of peaceful havoc in the area?” she asked, fuming.
Senator Chuck Schumer was equally appalled. “If we don’t impeach this president for this, peace may break out all over the world. We need to stop this!”
Senator Lindsay Graham joined the chorus of Democrats in reprimanding President Trump. “If we don’t get war going soon, I may not be able to fund another campaign. That will literally kill me.”
