BREAKING: Congress votes to protect Syria’s border but not the US border

In a bipartisan vote, the US House of Representatives voted to reject President Trump‘s removal of US troops from the Syrian border. An amendment to the resolution ensures that any money that was to be used for the defense of the US-Mexico border would be used in Syria instead.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, accused of melting down about the issue in a meeting with Trump, said, “We are the United States of America. We are the world’s policemen and we pay to protect other borders not our own!”

Senate Republicans were in agreement for the most part.

“The number one priority for this country is making sure we keep the endless wars going,” Sen. Lindsay Graham said. “It’s more important than the economy or healthcare and it’s damn sure more important than protecting our homeland.”

Many want to tear down the border wall between US and Mexico and ship it to Syria.

“There are people fighting over there and we’re missing out!” Graham added.
