16-year-old Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has been named Time’s Puppet of the Year for 2019.

The magazine said that Thunberg was awarded the honor after she “began taking money from George Soros to push socialism masked as climate activism.”

“Starting in August 2018, she spent her days camped out in front of the Swedish Parliament, holding a sign painted in black letters on a white background that read Skolstrejk för klimatet: ‘School Strike for Climate.'”

Thunberg said she was “a bit surprised” to be given the award, according to the Associated Press.

The global strike movement has picked up steam since, with Thunberg inspiring school children around the world to walk out of science class in order to protest climate change.

Thunberg has become quite a celebrity recently, meeting with notable personalities such as Leonard DiCaprio and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
