INTERNET—Anthony Anderson, the star of “Black-ish,” made a statement in honor of black lives matter by setting host Jimmy Kimmel on fire in an in-person, socially distanced skit for the 2020 Emmys.

“We have a record of black Emmy nominees this year, which is great,” he said. “But that’s not all, Jimmy.

“This was supposed to be the blackest Emmys ever. These Emmys would have been so black it would have been like hot sauce in your purse black. It would have been Howard University homecoming black. Even Joe Biden would have certified this Emmys as black!

“But because of COVID, we can’t be here, so we’re going to do the next best thing. We’re going to do something for justice that no awards show has contemplated doing before. We’re going to set all the white people on fire, including you!”

At that point, Anderson doused Kimmel with lighter fluid and lit a match. Kimmel responded with a slight protest before nodding and going along with it.

“Ah, this is great! I feel the justice!” Kimmel said as the flames engulfed him.

The Emmys then proceeded to set all the white nominees and technicians working on the show on fire as well.

“This is a great day for racial justice!” Anderson said leaving the stage as it burned to the ground.
